School corridor, any school

Dare to shape

Three clubs. One network. Every school in the world can start one, and one already did.

What ICN is

ICN is an international non-profit. We are a network of student clubs that lets students bring their own ideas to life at school, share what they learn, and grow alongside peers around the world.

A school becomes part of the network by starting at least one of three clubs. The student who starts it becomes Chapter President, automatically, on day one.

Everything the club needs already exists: the structure, the roles, the meeting rhythm, the certificate designs, the media kit. You are not asked to invent a club. You are asked to run one.

You won't have to start from scratch or reinvent the wheel.

What we stand for

  • Self-expression through mutual support and teamwork.

Nobody builds anything alone here. The club is the support structure.

  • Personal growth and global student networking.

Every member reaches past their own school from the first meeting.

  • Positive change in schools, created by the people who matter most: the students themselves.

    Not for students. By them.

We could round that up. We won't. One year, one school, forty-odd people who showed up every third week. That is the whole record, and it is why the framework works.

The three clubs

Start one, two, or all three. One is enough to make your school part of the network.

The Film Factory of [Your School]

You will create social media content for the school and for yourself, explore what you are into, and come up with ideas worth filming, together with students all across the world.

The school's official social media team. Members represent the school and pursue their own interests at the same time. Roles inside the club: an idea crew of three to six who decide what gets filmed each week, three to five editors so the work never lands on one person, and everyone appears on camera.

Year-end certificate: Every member receives one, signed by the school administration. Recipient names are obscured. The certificates name minors, and no consent to publish them has been given.

The Creative Union of [Your School]

You will plan events, organise student-led projects, and build leadership skills with students all across the world.

When the school needs help running an event, or students want to run their own, this is the club that does it. It is also where organisational skill gets built in public: budgets, schedules, people who did not show up, and the event that happens anyway.

The Book Club of [Your School]

You will read at home and gather for relaxed, open discussions on big and contested questions, then argue them out with students across the world.

The quiet one. Members read at home and meet in person to talk it through. Always in person: the exchange is the point, and it does not survive a video call. ICN supplies suggested reading lists; the club picks its own first book at the first meeting.

Leading a club

The framework is deliberately loose about how you lead and strict about one thing only: that the club performs.

Who does what

  1. Chapter President

The person who founded ICN at their school. Leads the whole club system and can either run all three clubs or appoint presidents for them. Meets other Chapter Presidents every two months to review numbers and strategy.

  2. Club President

Leads a single club and can explain in plain words what it is for. Decides how the club runs and where it goes. Tracks what worked and what did not. May visit other clubs' meetings twice a semester to steal better ideas.

  3. Vice President

The right hand, and the likely successor. Steps in when the president cannot lead a meeting. The rest of the time an ordinary member who pushes projects forward like everyone else.

  4. Coordinators

One or two people who help organise meetings and calls, and talk to members directly. Entirely optional, and recommended once a club passes ten members.

  5. Members

The reason the club exists. They bring ideas, carry them out, and advise the president. Everything else on this list is scaffolding around them.

The first meeting

The first meeting of every club must happen in person.

Everything after that can be online if members prefer. The one exception is the Book Club, which always meets in person.

  1. 01Greet the club and say, in your own words, what it is for.
  2. 02Explain what ICN is and where the club sits inside it.
  3. 03Ask real questions. Find out who is actually in the room.
  4. 04Assign or vote on the roles the club needs.
  5. 05Say out loud that every member gets a certificate at the end of the year.
  6. 06Decide the first thing you will make, run, or read together.
  7. 07Set the next meeting, then close it.

Performance

ICN is relaxed about club organisation, meeting frequency and how you promote yourself. It is strict about output, for one reason: the performance of each club is the only measure of whether any of this works.

  • The Film Factory

At least one video a week.

  • The Creative Union

At least one event every three months.

  • The Book Club

At least one book completed every five months.

The rhythm

Every third week, all year, with rest periods built in around exam weeks.

[Founder name]

[Role, school, year]

[A sentence in the founder's own words about why ICN exists. Replace before launch.]

[Two or three sentences: who started ICN, at which school, what they were trying to fix, and what they do inside the network today. Nothing about this person appears in the source documents, so nothing has been written for them here.]

Every Chapter President gets a one-to-one session, in person or online, to work through what their school specifically needs.
